Dear CCA Parents,
I want to say thank you for another great year at Covenant Christian Academy! It is always exciting to see God at work amongst our students, families, and faculty. I have had the privilege of serving Christ at CCA for over twelve years now and He has shown me time and again that His hand clearly rests upon His school.
His blessing is most evident in the lives of those connected with CCA. Faith and commitment to Christ being lived out in the homes of our students and the classrooms of our teachers is of the utmost importance to me. Our children desperately need to not only hear the gospel, but they also need to witness the gospel alive and active in each of our lives. The fruits of our efforts are put on display when I witness students putting the needs of others above their own, serving in their local community, or spending their summer in a distant country, sharing Christ with others. Thank you for partnering with us in order to make this happen.
His blessing is also evident in the continued expansion of our facilities. The reality of a school’s need for simple, functional facilities is obvious. We are all thankful that God has seen fit to bless us mightily with regards to the school campus. Consider the brief summary of God’s blessing below:
- 2004 – Athletic / Soccer Field constructed
- 2006 – Gymnasium opened
- 2007 – Gravel road access to soccer field constructed
- 2008 – Classroom renovation of buildings 1-5
- 2010 – Overflow parking added along with sidewalk
- 2011 – Restrooms constructed at soccer field
- 2012 – New roofs installed for buildings 1-5
As you can see, God has allowed us to continue moving forward in spite of a struggling economy. For this we are humbled and thankful. We are also encouraged to continue striving forward as good stewards of God’s gracious provision (1 Peter 4:10). So the question becomes this: What will 2014 hold for Covenant Christian Academy as we continue to press forward in rearing the coming generations to know, love, and fear their Creator?
You are probably aware that there is an unfinished portion of the gymnasium. This area comprises approximately 10,000 square feet of floor space! Our desire is to finish this area by adding a new music room, art room, library, and computer lab. However, we need your help in order to accomplish this project.
The school currently has $150,000 in a money market account that has been designated for this project. These funds have been collected over the course of this calendar year through the generous contributions of individuals. In an effort to avoid any further debt, our goal is to raise a total of $500,000 prior to beginning this endeavor. We have been waiting for the proper time to move forward – I believe the time is now. As you consider your year-end giving, I ask that you prayerfully consider how God would have you support this project.
Thank you again for your faithful partnership with CCA. It is always humbling to be the recipient of God’s continued grace and blessing as families choose to partner with us. As you prayerfully consider your contribution level, I would like to add that CCA will be increasing annual tuition by $300 beginning with the 2014-2015 academic year. I feel it is important to make you aware of this modest increase in tuition so you can best determine how you can assist CCA in reaching the goal of $500,000.
We pray that God will continue to provide for all the needs of CCA as He has so faithfully done the past 32 years! Once $500,000 has been raised through donations, we will proceed with plans to build out the unfinished area of the gym to complete the multi-purpose building. The timing of when this will occur will be based on God’s provision through giving from supporters of CCA. If $750,000 is raised, then we will be able to consider the addition of a baseball field as well once the multi-purpose facility is completed. Again, we feel that now is the time to move forward with those plans. Thank you for your patience as we have waited for God’s perfect timing.
Lastly, CCA currently has $1.7 million in debt with the campus currently valued at $3.6 million. We have paid down $300,000 in debt since 2009. We are also moving forward with plans to reduce debt in addition to improving facilities. We are committed to not exceed our current debt levels by borrowing additional funds. The enclosed flyer describes, in more detail, the various methods of contributing to CCA. Thank you again for prayerfully considering your giving and for continuing to support CCA!
